The Display of the Rk Veda

By viewing the pattern of the Veda, the reality of the Veda is enlivened within one's awareness and physiology.

Central to the Maharishi Vedic Observatory TM is a display of the structuring dynamics of the Rk Veda, which is the Constitution of the Universe, the total expression of Natural Law.

In its form, the structure of the Rk Veda exactly reflects the order underlying the structure of the universe.1 Each small stripe on top of each ring represents a sukta (or verse) of the Rk Veda. The 192 suktas of both the 1st and 10th mandalas are represented on the large circle in the center. The suktas of the 1st mandala are illustrated by the white stripes. The suktas of the 10th mandala are illustrated by the pink stripes. The suktas of the 10th mandala fill the gaps of the suktas of the 1st mandala. This illustrates the complementary relationship of the 1st and 10th mandala of Rk Veda. The rings outside the 1st and 10th mandala represent mandalas 2 through 9, starting in the southeast with the smallest ring and moving clockwise.

Within the central ring of the 1st and 10th mandalas is a display of the names of the 27 Nakshatras (star constellations), 12 Rashis (Zodiac Signs), and 9 Grahas (planets). This display illustrates that the structuring dynamics of the universe and of the Rk Veda are the same and that the area of the sky corresponding with a particular planet or star relates to a particular portion of the Rk Veda.

By viewing the pattern of the Veda, the reality of the Veda is enlivened within one's awareness and physiology. This enlivenment establishes balance between the inner value of Pure Consciousness and its expressed value of the physiology and of the universe. Individual physiology comes into alignment with cosmic physiology; individual awareness comes into alignment with cosmic awareness.
